The shrine of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) is one of the Quranic stations during the holy month of Ramadan

Within its special program to commemorate the days and nights of the month of the Holy Quran; the holy month of Ramadan. As there is a close spiritual relationship and solid bond between the Holy Quran and the month of fasting, that relationship felt by every Muslim with the entry of this holy month. Thus, in order to invest this relationship, the Institute of the Holy Quran at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has held a Quranic khatmah at the shrine of Imam Al-Mahdi may Allah hasten his holy reappearance), which is one of the khatmah of Quran hosted and sponsored by the institute inside and outside the holy city of Karbala.

The Institute director; Sheikh Jawad Al-Nasrawi has stated: "This khatma is held in cooperation with the department of religious affairs and the department of Maqam, lasting all over the days of the holy month of Ramadan at the shrine of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) with the participation of a number of the skilled readers who have passed the test of recitation held by the Institute of the holy Quran, and with the presence of a number of the Faithful coming to this holy sanctuary, gathering around this Quranic source every day after the prayers of Dohr and Asr."

Adding: "The Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine is very interested in the dissemination of the Quranic culture, as this recited Quranic khatma is among its interests and it holds it annually in the holy month of Ramadan, but in the last two years, the General Secretariat of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine gave more interest to this aspect, by increasing the number of Khatma and working on the special decoration of these events, in addition to the live broadcast in some satellite channels."
