After its successful experience in establishing a general college and the opening of a specialized hospital: The Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine makes a step two Faculties one of Medicine and the other of Nursing in the holy city of Karbala.

Opening the Faculty of Humanities in the province of Najaf is from the successful experiences of the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in the field of higher education, and it managed with its academic and scientific energies to supply the Iraqi society with educated elite according to the educational program that is in line with the international curriculum within the existing specifications in it.

And after the opening of Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital in the holy city of Karbala more than a year ago, its remarkable professional and service success, was the cornerstone for building the infrastructure of medical education.

Therefore, the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has put within its plans to make this hospital one of the educational establishments in the medical fields, as under the guidance of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, a delegation from the Department of Education headed by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine in the Mesopotamia University and the chairman of the deans of the medicine faculties in Iraq; Prof. Dr. Alaa Ghani Hussein has visited the holy shrine to see its technical potential and its goals to open faculties of Medicine and of Nursing in the province of Karbala.

The visiting delegation has done a field tour in the corridors of the Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital to look closely at its various departments and medical and therapeutic units and the possibility to take advantage of them to develop the practical level of the students if these two faculties were opened.

At the end of its tour, the delegation has expressed its great admiration for this hospital and the services it provides which will be one of the most important factors, through which the approval will be given to grant the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine to open the faculties of Medicine and of Nursing.
