The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine concludes the Festival of the Fatwa of the blessed defense and emphasizes continuing its establishment every year with wider participation.

The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, represented by the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, has concluded on Friday afternoon the 22nd of Sha'baan 1438 AH, corresponding to the 19th of May, 2017, the second cultural festival of the fatwa of the sacred defense held for two days under the slogan "The fatwa is the fragrance of victory and the Musk of martyrdom".

The ceremony was held in the hall of Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) for conferences and seminars at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and was attended by a large presence of religious, cultural and academic figures and delegations. It began by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by reading Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq and listening the national anthem and the hymn of the holy shrine.

Followed by the word of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine delivered by Sheikh Kamal al-Karbala'i from the Department of the religious affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, stating: "It is our fate to wage the Jihad to defend all mankind without any compensation to show the whole world that our religion is the religion of humanity, love and peace that is not tolerant with oppression and tyranny..."

Then came the word of the Preparatory Committee of the festival, which was delivered by the member of the committee Sayed 'Aqeel al-Yassiri, who has announced the most important recommendations of this festival, which includes the emphasis on continuing to establish the festival annually and with a broader participation, focusing on the role of the holy shrines in working on the fatwa, and the security, service and humanitarian efforts.

Then the winners of the festival competitions were announced and honored.

And in appreciation for what the Hussayni processions provided and still provide in support for the forces of the popular mobilization and the security forces, a number of them were honored in the closing ceremony. Then the festival was then concluded by honoring the printed, audio, video and electronic media that have covered the festival activities.
