The al-Kafeel International Conference of Museums will witness extensive local and international participation.

The Committee supervising the al-Kafeel International Conference of Museums, which will be held by the Museum of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine early next month, said that the participation in it will be wide at the local and international level whether at the level of research that will be presented by researchers, academic and specialists in the field of museum, which upgrade to the level of global conferences, or at the level of the attendees whom were invited and confirmed their active presence in the conference.

The Head of the Department of the al-Kafeel Museum of treasures and manuscripts at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and member of the Preparatory Committee of the Conference, Mr. Sadeq Lazem has added: "The date of the conference was advanced because of the exams of the second tour of universities. So, it will be held on the seventh of September for two days under the slogan "The Museums; Civilization and Economy". The Scientific Committee in charge of evaluating the research is still continuing its work due to the large number of research and their importance, which need more time to evaluate according to the controls and conditions set by."

And he stressed: "This conference is distinguished from the previous year with Arab and foreign participation, as well as the Iraqi participation. The researchers are from: Egypt, Germany, Japan and Iran, as well as the Iraqi research from various Iraqi universities."

It is to note that the conference is part of a series of conferences and specialized activities sponsored and held by the holy shrine to open a window for communication and exchange of experiences among museums, specialists and artists in the world of modern and contemporary art, as it will be attended by an elite of researchers, specialists and officials of museums from inside and outside Iraq and it aims to:

First: Preservation of the cultural and civilization heritage.

Second: Supporting religious institutions to establish specialized museums and develop the museum work.

Third: Opening up and developing cooperation with local and international museums' institutions.

Fourth: Develop the performance of the museums' work to enhance the media and economic knowledge of the museum.
