With the participation of 35 trainees, the engineering maintenance department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine concludes the cycle of the use of hand fire extinguishers.

Within the framework of the special interests and service and humanitarian concepts of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, the Fire and Warning Systems Unit of the Engineering Maintenance Department at the Holy Shrine has completed, in accordance with the directives of the General Secretariat, a special course on the use of fire extinguishers for the Zaynabiyat [ladies] Division, in order to protect their houses and the work places from the fire danger, as the female element is characterized by fear and hesitation in cases of risk, and thus in case of danger, God forbid, she will be the first affected because of the confusion state as well as her hesitation and bad behavior in the crisis.

This session lasted for two days at an average of one hour a day, and was attended by 35 trainees from the Zaynabiyat Division at the Holy Shrine, which was held on its first day at the Complex of Imam al-Hadi (peace be upon him). The second day included practical applications, which were held in the vehicles' garage of the Engineering maintenance department. The trainees have been given the best methods and the correct manner of dealing with the various incidents of primitive fire, which will enable them to control the lives and property inside the house and work site.

On the first day of the course, the trainees were introduced to a range of different skills and research into the main causes of the fires. Including a variety of knowledge and a review of a range of fire incidents. Each trainee was provided with the following knowledge:

1- Pyramid of Ignition (Triangle Ignition)

2. Type of flammable material.

3 - Fire extinguisher types.

4 - Ways to use fire extinguisher

5 - Ways to control the fire.

6. Alternative fire-fighting methods.

As for the second day of the course, which is the "practical applications", the participants were given the skill of dealing with fire for solid, liquid and gaseous materials. Each trainee will be able to use the fire extinguisher and is qualified to combat primitive fires. The workshop will ensure that the trainees respond to this course through practical training on using fire extinguishers in a compatible manner between the accident and the type of extinguisher.
