The Library of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine holds an exhibition of rare documents and manuscripts for the first time at the level of the holy shrines in Cairo.

The participation of the Library and House of Manuscripts at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine in this second conference of "Arab and Islamic Heritage, Balance, Work, Culture and Attendance", which is hosted by the Institute of Arabic Manuscripts in Cairo, and organized by the mentioned institute, the manuscripts' Center at the Suez Canal University and the Center for the Revival of the Scientific Heritage at the University of Baghdad, was not limited to the research axis, but there was also another activity complementary to the success of this participation, through the establishment of an exhibition of the treasures of manuscripts, documents and publications, with the participation of the Center of Imaging and Indexing manuscripts, the Center of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) for Specialized Studies and the Center of Heritage Revival at the Library Division.

"This exhibition is being held for the first time at the level of the holy shrines in Iraq and the Islamic world. It was a good opportunity to show and define what the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine possesses from a valuable heritage stock, as well as the effort that is being exerted for restoration and investigation in order to take it out and put it in its natural place in order to benefit from it." Said Salah Mahdi Abdulwahab, head of the delegation, to al-Kafeel Global Network.

He added: "What has been exhibited in these pavilions are 32 models of manuscripts and documents dating from the first century AH until the thirteenth century AH, and the number of books presented was 40 books, with the presentation of samples of seals of Iraqi, Arab and foreign libraries."

Indicating: "The participation was according to the specialization of each center, as the Center for imaging and indexing manuscripts has displayed images of the treasures of the manuscripts of the Holy Quran, which dates back to the period from the first century AH to the thirteenth century AH, and also displayed images of historical documents representing a different era of Islamic history, Including the painting of earth of the Sherif Idrissi, which dates back to the sixth century AH. Also, a collection of publications of the Center such as manuscripts' indexes and the Quran of Ibn al-Bawab were presented."

He added: "The center of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) for specialized studies has made a presentation of a collection of its publications, including volumes on the biography of "the moon of Bani Hashim (peace be upon him)", and another collection of books that deals with specialized studies on the character of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him). The participation of the Center for the Revival of Heritage was rich in its exhibits. It presented a valuable collection of its various publications, including the book "Aqrab al-Majazat", "al-Khizanah Magazine" and other books specialized in the study and investigation of manuscripts, as well as the investigations the center has undertook ".

Mr. Salah concluded: "The exhibition has been praised by the attendees and participants from many countries and have shown great admiration for these products."

It is noteworthy that this exhibition is part of a series of exhibitions and participations of the Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, in order to demonstrate and show the energies and potential of the holy shrine in this field which it used to preserve the heritage and to strengthen the bonds of relations between the holy shrine and other institutions.
