The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine concludes the exhibition of AlKafeel Youth for intellectual creativity of medical and engineering publications with the participation of 33 private and public universities.

The central hall of the al-'Ameed University hosted on Thursday afternoon 13th Shawwal 1439 AH corresponding to June 28, 2018 the closing ceremony of the AlKafeel Youth competition of the intellectual creativity for the medical and engineering students in the Iraqi universities, held by the Division of University Relations in the Department of Public Relations at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, in the presence of the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; his eminence Sayed Ahmad al-Safi and a number of its officials, as well as the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Abd al-Razzaq al-Issa, in addition of a large academic presence of universities and a large number of students who participated with 60 medical and engineering projects from 33 private and public universities.

The closing ceremony started by the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by the reader of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine Muslim 'Aqeel, then reading Surat al-Fatihah in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, followed by the national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine "Pride's Tune", followed by the word of the Senior Official of the al-Abbas's (o holy shrine, Sayed Ahmad al-Safi in which he highlighted the importance of the creativity in the development of the country, especially after the crisis through which the homeland passed, highlighting that we should never forget the martyrs as without their sacrifices we would not enjoy safety and the youth would not seek progress for the country.

Followed by the word of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Abd al-Razzaq al-Issa, who first praised the prominent creativity of Iraqi universities' students who, despite the harsh circumstances of the country, succeeded to provide distinguished and creative medical and engineering projects keeping pace with the scientific development. Then he highlighted some of the efforts of the ministry in this regard and ended by recalling the sacrifices of the martyrs and the wounded, without which such forums would not be held. Then he congratulated the students for their efforts.

Then student Mohamad Mokhtar Yusuf, delivered the word of the participating students in the exhibition of the medical and engineering projects, praising the AlKafeel Youth competition that enabled the students to show their developed skills for the sake of serving the country, calling the state institutions and private companies to embrace the scientific competencies. Then he extended his thank to the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for this precious opportunity, to the Minister for his presence, to all universities presidents, and to all those who contributed for the success of this competition.

Then Dr. Yusuf Khalaf, head of the entrepreneurship at the ministry of higher education and scientific research delivered the word of the evaluation committee of the scientific projects, announcing the winners. Please click here for more.

The ceremony was concluded by the distribution of awards and appreciation certificates and then the attendees went to visit the exhibition of the scientific creations of these students.
