The two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) held a memorial service for the kidnapped martyrs.

The two general secretariats of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) organized a memorial service for the martyrs who were kidnapped and assassinated by the terrorist ISIL gangs on the road Baghdad - Kirkuk. The memorial service was held in the square between the two holy shrine in the presence of the martyrs' families and delegations representing religious and social bodies, representatives of the popular mobilization forces, Tribes' Sheikhs, staff and officials of the two holy shrines.

Haj Fadhel Awaz, member of the Board of Directors of the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine stated: "Once we received the news of the martyrdom of a group of young people of the city while they were in duty to answer the call of the supreme religious authority for the sufficient duty for jihad, and who had a clear impact in the continuous logistic support. The city has been grieving, feeling sorry for the innocent children who were appealing to save their fathers, but to no avail. The enemy is known by treachery, mercilessness and deceit, without differentiating by the follow of this sect or the other. Therefore, the general secretariats of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) held this memorial service to express our great sadness, extend our deep condolences to their relatives and pray the Almighty to bestow upon them His great mercy.”
