Valuable efforts and remarkable development of the Unit of Maintenance and Operation of elevators and cranes of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

After nearly a year of its establishment, the cadres of the elevators and cranes unit of the engineering maintenance department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine succeeded in maintaining and sustaining more than (60) electrical elevators within the holy shrine and outside it in some of its external facilities, in addition to a group of electric doors and stairs Inside the sanctuary, the unit has undertaken the responsibility to carry out these tasks.

Head of the Electricity Division at the Engineering Maintenance Department; Engineer Ali Abd al-Hussayn Abbas, explained to Al-Kafeel Global Network: "The establishment of this unit came in order to keep abreast of the modern construction achieved in the projects of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, as well as to reduce the exorbitant costs that were previously paid for the maintenance of elevators and cranes of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, and during a record period, the staff of the unit, technicians and specialists in this area, have shown a significant and remarkable development as previously maintenance works were limited to a simplified mechanic maintenance."

He added: "The work carried out by the maintenance unit of elevators and cranes is a general mechanical and electrical maintenance, in addition to the programming of the elevator and its parts, determining the number of floors and elevator speed. The elevator unit has been divided into two parts, one for the periodic maintenance of elevators and the other for the urgent maintenance. "

He added: "The work of the unit is not limited to the maintenance of elevators, but also the maintenance of cranes, including diesel and electric cranes, it is also the responsibility of the unit to have the equipped materials for the maintenance of elevators and cranes directly from international companies, in order to provide the best spare parts for maintenance in a short time, saving effort and money that will be generated if we used an intermediary to import those materials from the main companies, in addition to the maintenance work that is executed without the need of external staff. Many important projects have been completed to the fullest extent by the unit of maintenance and operation of elevators and cranes of the Electricity Division at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine."
