In cooperation with the International Red Cross, the al-Kafeel Academy for Training and Military Rescue concludes a training course for a number of fighters of the al-Abbas's (p) Fighting Squad.

The training course on the basics of first aid, held by the academy of training and the military rescue of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, in cooperation with the International Red Cross for a number of the fighters of the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad, was concluded on Wednesday 24th of Dhu al-Hijjah 1439 AH, corresponding to September 5, 2018.

The Director of Al-Kafeel Academy Sayed. Murtada Al-Ghalibi stated to Al-Kafeel Global Network: "The Al-Kafeel Academy for Training and Military Rescue of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine in cooperation with a number of trainers of the International Red Cross organization, held an intensive training course on first aid at Al-Kafeel Academy for Training and Military Rescue. This course targeted a number of fighters of the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad, and continued for three days, by five hours per day, during which a number of international laws and regulations to protect civilians, the wounded and the unarmed people in the areas of armed conflict and the areas where the fighting took place, were explained. Also the Red Cross Committee introduced its work through an overview of the organization and its various activities and humanitarian work in many countries. This cooperation is considered the first of its kind, and the course dealt with the basics of first aid and the method of handling and rescue of various types of injuries during the battle, with the participation of 25 fighters of the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad."

He added: "One of the objectives of this edition is to open the cooperation frameworks between the Red Cross and the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, represented by the al-Kafeel Academy of the training and the military rescue and the al-Abbas's (p) fighting squad and the knowledge of the programs that are being traded, as well as to learn the international laws of their rights and the rights of civilians and how to deal with some injuries and wounds of the fighters in combat. "

For his part, the international delegate for the holy province of Karbala of the Red Cross in Iraq, Mr. Fuad Zaytir stated: "The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has a great influence and heavy weight, on the religious, cultural and social levels not only in Iraq, but in the world as a whole, which urged us to communicate with such active institution in the society."

And he added: "This cooperation is the first of its kind with the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine. And this course, which was presented by the Red Cross, has been successful in more than 80 countries in the world, as it aims to instill knowledge and full awareness of the fighter about all wounds and injuries that might happen on the battlefield."
