For the first time in the history of the holy shrines of Iraq: The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine is preparing to hold a conference at the United Nations headquarters in New York.

As part of its series of activities and events, the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine is getting ready for organizing and participating in an important international event; The conference of Restoring the leading role and promoting just, peaceful and inclusive societies, in cooperation with the Imam al-Khoe'i Foundation and the Scientific Alliance for Research and Heritage.

The conference will be held on the eighth of October with the participation of 1000 distinguished personalities of different religions, sects and disciplines.

The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine participates to represent the holy shrines and the lovers and followers of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

Especially that it worked since the establishment of its cultural and scientific institutions with the method of moderation and centrality, to be able to repel the Takfiri attacks facing the Islamic Ummah and address the intellectual deviations in the Islamic community, harnessing great efforts for this purpose as well as organizing a number of events and activities and conference inside and outside Iraq. And it calls for the consolidation of this approach in the Iraqi society in particular and in the world in general.

The conference aims to bring together world leaders of thought to begin to assess the opportunities and challenges facing the Islamic Ummah to regain its true position in the international community.

All the proposals will be presented during the conference in the spaces of promoting fair, peaceful and inclusive societies in Muslim societies by preventing violence against minorities as well as against women and children, and activating the global partnership for development, which are part of the 17 goals of the sustainable development that the United Nations intends to implement fully by 2030, which in turn will contribute to the emergence of Islam and Muslims as a network contributing to finding solutions to many of the challenges facing the world, and renews the Muslim commitment to academic research and intellectual visions.

According to the committee supervising the participation in this conference: "The al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine will participate in the research sessions contained in the conference and within its axes. There will also be a photo exhibition entitled" The cradle of civilization "which will highlight the effects of the destruction of Iraq and its civilizational heritage by the ISIL gangs, and the earnest perseverance and courage of Iraqis who have fought against ISIL and won over them in a record time and are currently rebuilding their country.
