For the sixth year in a row: The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine honors the first students in Iraqi universities and institutes.

For the sixth year in a row, within the project of the National project of the al-Kafeel Youth, the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine honored the first students of the Iraqi universities and institutes for the last academic year, through a great and majestic ceremony held on Friday 9th of Jumada II 1440 AH corresponding to February 15, 2018 in the presence of delegations and personalities representing many parties as well as representatives of universities as well as the students and their families, in order to encourage the outstanding students to harness all their effort for the service of this country; because they are the bright future of Iraq. So the ceremony is held in appreciation of their efforts based on the importance of motivating the students to pursue creativity, excellence and dedication to serve the country.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and reciting Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq and then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine "Pride tune", followed by a speech by the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine presented by its Senior Official; Sayed Ahmad al-Safi.

Followed by a speech by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Professor Qusay Al-Suhail, in which he explained his pride of the outstanding students whom he described as the foundation of all development plans in the coming years.

Dr. Hadi Duwayj, President of Wasit University presented the word of the universities' presidencies, expressing his happiness for the continuation of such events supported by the supreme religious authority and the holy shrines, which is in line with the vision, mission and objectives of Iraqi universities to participate in rebuilding the homeland at all levels.

Then the poet Haj Ali al-Safi from the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine presented a patriotic poem about Iraq and its situation. Then the universities' presidencies were honored along with the outstanding students of the universities' graduates.

The honored students expressed their beautiful feelings, considering this ceremony a unique initiative that leaves a positive impression, and is a motivation for their perseverance thanks to the care and attention given to their good results.
