In cooperation with the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them): Karbala University opens its 11th International Scientific Conference.

The activities of the 11th International Scientific Conference held by Karbala University, represented by the Faculty of Management and Economics, in cooperation with the General Secretariat of the two holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and of al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), were held on Monday 23rd Sha'ban 1440 AH corresponding to April, 29, 2019, under the slogan "The role of the universities in the completion of the government program) amid a large government and academic presence from various universities in Iraq as well as outside Iraq.

The opening ceremony of the conference began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha, in honor of the martyrs of Iraq and then listening to the Iraqi national anthem.

Then came the speech of the Preparatory Committee for the conference delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Management and Economics at Karbala University, Dr. Alaa Farhan Taleb, highlighting the axes that will be covered by the research presented at the conference, pointing out the objectives to be achieved; to provide inputs to help ministries and institutions to implement the governmental program through the views and proposals presented by the researchers participating in the conference from inside and outside the country. He also expressed his thanks to the general secretariats of the holy shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) for their support of this conference.

This was followed by the speech of the President of the Karbala University, Professor Dr. Munir Hameed Al-Saadi, followed by the speech of the representative of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohammed Al-Sarraj, who indicated the mechanism of the government program.

During the opening ceremony, a short documentary film about the previous edition of the conference and its contents was presented. Afterwards, there was a dialogue seminar on the role of universities in the implementation of the government program.

Then the attendees then headed to the opening of the exhibition of the conference, in which the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, participated. It was represented by various pavilions that are:

- A special pavilion for the publications of the Intellectual and Cultural Affairs Department and the Islamic and Human Knowledge Affairs Department. The latter also participated in a pictures pavilion, represented by the Karbala Heritage Center.

- Pavilion of the al-Kafeel museum for treasures and manuscripts.

- The Abbas's (peace be upon him) fighting squad pavilion.

- Al-Kafeel Group for Public Investments.

- Al-Joud Company for Modern Agricultural and Industrial Technology.

- Al-Kafeel Nursery and apiaries.

- Department of Engineering Projects.

- Two health education and first aid training tents.

Then the scientific research sessions began with the participation of (322) researchers from inside and outside Iraq through (142) scientific research within the themes of the conference.
