After two days of research sessions, Quranic and poetry evenings, and various art exhibitions, the fourth edition of the Cultural Festival of the Sacred Fatwa Defense was concluded on Friday, 24th Shawwal 1440 AH corresponding to June 28, 2019, amid a great academic and media presence from inside and outside Iraq.
The closing ceremony was held at the Imam al-Hassan (peace be upon him) Hall and witnessed the presence of the senior official of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; Sayed Ahmad Al-Safi and its Secretary-General Eng. Mohammed Al-Ashigar, as well as a number of its distinguished Board of Directors, and some families of the martyrs of the sacred fatwa.
The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran and recitation of Surah Al-Fatiha in honor to the souls of the martyrs. This was followed by reading the recommendations of the festival delivered by Dr. Riyad Al-Amidi from the al-'Ameed International Center for Studies and Research.
After that, one of the survivors of the Speicher massacre, the young Ali Hussein Kadhem, told the audience the story of his survival from the massacre, the hardships he had suffered and the tragedies he witnessed on his colleagues who were martyred in that painful incident. Then a number of the martyrs of Speicher massacre were honored.
At the end, the winners of the competitions that were held within the activities of the festival, were honored followed by honoring the participating researchers in addition to the media that contributed to covering the festival activities in its fourth edition.
