An Iraqi medical team from al-Kafeel Hospital succeeds in treating a three-month-old girl suffering from congenital heart deformity.

An Iraqi medical team from al-Kafeel Super-Speciality Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, succeeded in treating a three-month-old girl suffering from congenital heart deformity.

The team's head and the specialist in paediatric cardiac surgery; Dr. Ahmad al-'Aboodi, indicated: "The team succeeded in treating a girl who weighed four kilograms at the age of three months with a quadruple hole in her heart, a resident of Baghdad province."

Adding: "The operation lasted about four hours, and it was dangerous because the baby was suffering from underdevelopment and underweight. However, her health status has stabilized thereafter."

This is one of the most successful operations for paediatric cardiac surgery at Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital, where the hospital has already achieved many successes in open heart operations for children under one year of age and of low weights, which distinguishes it from other hospitals.
