Veterinary procedures in preparation for the high proportion of sheep births expected in the livestock department of the al-Kafeel Company for public investments.

The veterinary and technical staff of the Agricultural and Livestock Affairs Department at Al-Kafeel Public Investments Company of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine completed a set of procedures for the season from May to September of the year, in preparation for the birth season which is expected to witness an increase in the proportion of births compared to the previous seasons.

Head of the Agricultural Affairs and Livestock Department at Al-Kafeel Public Investments Company of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Eng. Ali Maz'al Layedh, said: “The specialized veterinary cadres vaccinated the sheep and gave them all vaccines to immunize them from epidemic and transmissible diseases, and sterilized all clusters and roofs of worms harmful to livestock."

He stressed: "This coincides with the cleaning work of the engineering and technical cadres of all the roofs and gardens and re-covering them with hay, to provide the right climate with the near season of the birth of sheep, as we expected to increase the proportion of births due to the efforts made since the beginning of the season."

Engineer Ali Maz'al explained: "Special roofs have been allocated for fattening lambs that continue to be fed with fodder mixtures of alfalfa and concentrated feed such as barley and corn fodder."

It is noteworthy that the Department of Agricultural Affairs and Livestock at the al-Kafeel public investments company, depends on the specific production plan for breeding high-quality Iraqi sheep such as Naimi and Awassi, and meat is marketed in the al-Kafeel centers for direct sale.
