The Ministers of Agriculture and Water Resources affirm that the projects of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine are pioneering and supportive of the national economy and promote its product and we shall be supportive of it.

Minister of Agriculture Dr. Saleh Al-Hassani and Minister of Water Resources Dr. Jamal Al-Adeli stressed that the projects adopted by the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine are pioneering and role models that support the national economy, enhance its product and contribute to the investment of the country's wealth.

This came during their visit of the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) this afternoon Thursday 6th Muharram 1441 AH corresponding to September 6, 2019 in a meeting with the Secretary-General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; Engineer Mohammed Al-Ashigar and a number of its distinguished Board of Directors in the presence of the Governor of Karbala, Mr. Jassim Al-Khattabi. The two sides exchanged views on several issues centered on how to support the national product of agricultural crops, and support the Iraqi peasant and provide everything that contributes to achieve this desired goal, namely the return of the local product to the forefront without the use of foreign imported products, as Iraq has all the capabilities that make it a pioneer in the field of agriculture. And the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine provided many models and proofs through a number of leading agricultural projects.

The Minister of Agriculture, Dr. Saleh al-Hassani, in turn, praised the projects adopted by the holy shrines in Karbala, including: “The projects established and implemented by the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, such as the farms of Khairat al-Kafeel, Al-Saqi and others, which have proved to be commendable projects, and have contributed to the promotion of the local product, increasing the agricultural area and investing the agricultural lands. And we will work to support it."

For his part, Minister of Water Resources Dr. Jamal Al-Adeli added: "The projects of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, including the Saqi project, are pioneering projects. We wish that the other provinces follow the example of Karbala in establishing such important projects, especially in investing the underground water. And the ministry will be supportive for these projects and any project that contributes to turning desert lands into green oases. "
