The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine honors the media that participated in the broadcast of the Ziyarat Arba'een.

The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine honored the media bodies that participated in the broadcast of the Ziyarat Arba'een in the holy city of Karbala, during a ceremony held on Thursday morning (25th Safar 1441 AH) corresponding to October 24, 2019 at the Hall of Imam Hassan Mujtaba (peace be upon him), in the presence of its Secretary General Eng. Mohammad Al-Ashigar and a number of its Board of Directors' members.

The ceremony began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran followed by the reading of Surat Al-Fatiha in tribute to the souls of the martyrs of Iraq, and then listening to the Iraqi national anthem and the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine; Pride's Tune.

Then Dr. Abbas Rasheed al-Moussawi delivered the speech of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, in which he stated that the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine aims by this tribute to honor the respected sincere media, to highlight the professional nobility and entrench human values, before it aims to confront the cultural, intellectual and moral invasion.

Followed by a speech of the media that participated in the broadcast of the Ziyarat Arba'een, delivered on their behalf by the President of the Journalists Association in Karbala, Mr. Tawfiq Al-Hayali, stating: "all thanks and appreciation to the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine for this initiative to honor the journalists in Karbala for their efforts in the coverage of the Ziyarat Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him)."

He added: "During the Ziyarat Arba'een, approximately 1618 journalists, media professionals, technicians and photojournalists entered the holy city of Karbala. They contributed greatly throughout the day with comprehensive media coverage of the Ziyarat, including 263 foreign journalists from various kinds of media, as well as more than 23 SNG cars that broadcasted live from inside Karbala at different times during the Ziyarat Arba'een, which indicates that this city has gained international status, which compels us as journalists and media professionals to work eagerly with high sense of professionalism, to deliver the message of Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon them) to the whole world. "

The ceremony was concluded by the distribution of shields to all media that participated in the broadcast of the events of the Ziyarat Arba'een from the land of Karbala from satellite channels, radio and others.
