Al-Kafeel Museum organizes a course on carpet maintenance and damage assessment.

The Department of the al-Kafeel Museum of Treasures and Manuscripts held a development course on carpet maintenance and assessing its damages, with the participation of the staff of the Department of the Holy Sanctuary's Care and the staff of the Division of the holy sanctuary at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.

The course covered how to maintain carpets after assessing the damage, starting with explaining the tools available in carpet maintenance and how to distinguish between manual and automatic carpets, through giving the trainees the basics of carpet weaving and carpet making.

The course also included introducing the trainees to the best methods used to maintain the carpet fabric, as well as clarifying the mechanism of sewing leather on the edges of the carpet, to conclude the session by clarifying how to know the damages that affect the carpet.

It is noteworthy that the Department of the al-Kafeel Museum for the Treasures and Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has a team with expertise in how to maintain carpets as well as making certain types of carpets.
