The staff of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and present their condolences to Imam al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) on this painful occasion.

On such day in the year 40 of migration, in the month of Allah; the holy month of Ramadan, the Islamic nation woke up on a major crime that shook the throne of Almighty God, and made the angels of the skies and earth cry, and Gabriel screamed: "By Allah, the pillars of guidance have collapsed. By Allah, the stars of knowledge of all the prophets are no longer lit, the signs of piety have disappeared. By Allah, the ropes to God [orwat-ul-wothqa] are unraveled. All because Prophet Mohammad's cousin, the chosen Wasiy, Ali the Mortada has been martyred. By Allah, the Master of guardians was killed by the most miserable of all."

And in commemoration of this sad occasion, and as usual in reviving the occasions of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and remembering their misfortunes, and within the special condolence program of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine for the commemoration of the martyrdom anniversary of the Commander of the Faithful Imam Ali (peace be upon him), on Saturday afternoon, the 21st of the month of Ramadan 1438 AH corresponding to the 17th of June 2017, a condolence procession of the servants of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine launched from the holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) after presenting him the condolences for this tragedy, heading to the shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) to line up with his servants to present the condolences together recalling this painful and sad tragedy that afflicted the lovers of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in such days, a condolence Majlis was held after that at the holy shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

On the other hand, the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has held in the hall of ceremonies a condolence Majlis for three days, in which condolences were presented to the Imam of Order and Time (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) by the officials and employees of the Holy Shrine.

The Majlis have included religious lectures preceded by recitations of the verses of the Holy Quran. The lectures focused on the knowledge and the injustice he lived in his life and the narrations about him in the Sunnah. During these three days, Sheikh 'Aqeel al-'Abboudi has presented one lecture, and sheikh Majid al-Sultani has lectured twice.
