The building is considered one of the largest buildings established by the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, or that is under construction in a number of governorates, which came in compliance with the directives of the supreme religious authority and as a humanitarian initiative to support the efforts of the Iraqi Ministry of Health in confronting the Corona epidemic, on an area of more than (5000) meters It includes (118) single rooms, in addition to (19) medical, administrative and service rooms.
The engineer of the project, Karrar Brihi, briefed us on the most important details of this building, explaining, saying: “The building consists of three parts, and they were distributed as follows:
The first part: its area is (1377) square meters and includes (56) single rooms, the area of each room is more than (15) square meters and contains a bathroom. These rooms are distributed into two wings separated by a corridor of one hundred two meters long and three meters wide .
The second part: It corresponds to the first part in terms of space, design, implementation and number of rooms.
The third part: It is built on an area of (1000) square meters and includes (19) medical, administrative and service rooms distributed over two wings, and it includes a patient reception hall with an area of (100) square meters and two bathrooms, one for men and the other for women.
Brihi added: “A 3-meter-wide corridor separates the three parts, which has been invested for the purpose of ventilation and lighting, in addition to the installation of external cooling systems (split units) and water heaters.
As for the most important systems that are provided with the building, they are:
- A modern alarm system with sensors distributed to all joints of the building.
- An electrical system in which current and future loads are taken into account, operating in two lines (national and generator).
- Sewerage system.
- CCTV system.
- Cooling system with external parts (split unit) distributed to all rooms.
- A healthy fresh air ventilation system (AIR FRESH) works to draw air from the outside and purify it with special mechanisms, to be pushed into the halls and rooms at a cooler temperature commensurate with the condition of the patients.
- The polluted air disposal system as it works to withdraw it from the building and throw it outside, after it is treated so that it does not affect the external environment, because it is exposed to high heat and is treated with special materials.
"The building was provided with (150) pieces (split) cooling of different capacities to be used as needed, and (28) water heaters with a capacity to cover the needs of the building, in addition to installing six water tanks with a capacity of (10) thousand liters," he added.
He also indicated: “The work was conducted at a rate of more than (18) hours a day divided into two shifts, one in the morning and the other in the evening, and the al-Abbas's holy shrine provided us with all the materials we need for this project from solid origins, in addition to providing all the needs of the workers who harnessed their utmost efforts in order to complete it within the timings and technical and medical specifications, challenging all circumstances, whether it is the high temperatures, or the danger of the place because it is located near one of the isolation halls of the patients in Ibn Al-Qaf Hospital, as well as the difficulty that accompanied the project in transporting some needed materials due to the partial curfew, in addition to the lack of staff working in it, because our staff are assigned to other work in similar buildings in both the Babylon and Muthanna governorate, in addition to the work they do concerning the sites of the al-Abbas's holy shrine and the maintenance of its facilities.
