The Department of Engineering Maintenance and Construction at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced that the rehabilitation and development work of the added spaces for the Saqi courtyard has reached its final stages, so that this area joins the previously added areas, which will contribute to providing additional services for visitors and the processions during the large Ziyarat seasons, and relieving the momentum that takes place in Bab al-Qibla Street to the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
The supervisor of these works, engineer Mohamad Mustafa Al-Taweel, explained to the Kafeel network: “What remains of the works is the cladding of the last part (which is a very small area compared to what has been covered) of the added area of the courtyard, which is located on the right side of Bab Al-Qibla Street to the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him), in addition to the inscriptions that will be installed over the fence adjacent to the covered area from the market side."
He indicated: “The total added area is (1610) square meters, and the works included building an integrated infrastructure network (electricity - sewers - communications - cameras - potable water), as well as installing a pavement separating the added space from the street."
