The completion of the manufacturing of parts for the Shrine’s grid of the Hand and preparations are underway for its installation.

The Department for the manufacture of the grids and doors of the holy shrines of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced that its technical staff has finished manufacturing all parts of the grid for the shrine of the left hand of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him). Preparations are currently underway to install it in the location specified for it within the outer wall of the Holy Shrine, next to the gate of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him).

This grid is to be added to the record of achievements inside and outside Iraq, designed and implemented by pure Iraqi hands with high accuracy, professionalism and durability.

The head of the aforementioned department and the supervisor of the work, Mr. Nadhem Al-Gharabi, said to the Al-Kafeel Network: “The cadres of the department had completed this grid within the timings and specifications prepared for it, despite the multiplicity of works entrusted to it in other projects such as the shrine of Lady Zaynab (peace be upon her), and the front facade of Maqam of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his holy reappearance) on the women side. But the department spared no effort in order to complete this grid, which will be a wonderful masterpiece of art. All the metal and wooden parts were numbered according to the location of each of them, in a manner that ensures that they will be installed on the grid structure after it has been erected in the place specified for it.. "

He added: “The last thing that has been accomplished in this grid is the gold and green enamel coating of the Qur’anic and poetic writing tapes, in addition to the decorative strip, where the inscribed bands and the decorative parts are made up of:

First: A Qur’an written tape (Qur’anic inscription) with a height of (20 cm) surrounding the grid on all the eight sides of its sections. It is surrounded on the top by a metal ribbon, which is 6 cm high.

Second: An epigraphic strip (a poetic inscription) with a height of (20 cm) composed by the poet Ali Al-Saffar, distributed also around the perimeter of the grid. It is streaked with gold water on a green enamel, and it will be installed above each knotwork

Third: a decorative frieze surrounding the eight parts of the grid, and its height is 28 cm. In the middle of each part there is a decorative rose that is roughly circular in shape. There are (16) roses. In addition to a silver medial ring distributed over the eight corners of the grid and located in the space that separates the Qur’anic and poetic inscription. ”

It is noteworthy that the grid is octagonal, and it is the first grid manufactured with this design, with a diameter (3 meters) and a height (2.85 meters), and a structure of stainless steel with a thickness of (2 mm). It was designed and implemented with high precision, craftsmanship and durability.
