Starting the maintenance and glazing of the dome of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) from the inside

The staff of the Engineering Maintenance and Construction Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine began the work of maintaining, restoring and glazing the dome of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) from the inside, after completing all similar work on the wall and ceiling of the Holy Sanctuary.

The head of the aforementioned department, Eng. Samir Abbas, told Al-Kafeel Network, "These works are part of the tasks set for the maintenance and development of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), which are implemented according to a plan developed for this purpose, in a way that suits the sanctity of this holy place, and also because of its clear impact on engineering and aesthetic design."

He added, "The maintenance work undertaken by the mirrors unit in our department was concluded by installing the artfully cut pieces of mirrors in the Holy Sanctuary and its wall, and moved to an important stage and an important part that is the heart of these works, which is the holy dome. The works include many parts, the most important of which are:

- Removing the old decorative pieces of glass and other materials that hold it.

- Updating and developing the wiring of electrical systems, lighting lamps and cameras.

- Treatment of the ceiling with special materials and several layers according to the needs of each part.

- Changing the ventilation and cooling holes in a modern way.

- Implementation of designs for glass engravings and starting the installation of mirror pieces, according to their designs, plans and measurements."

And he stated, "The materials that will be used in these works have been prepared, characterized by modernity and durability, with lighter weights and more solidity, while maintaining the old design, but with artistic touches that will add a clear elegance to the project upon completion, to form an artistic piece of art with the rest of the parts of the holy sanctuary."

It is noteworthy that all the planning, design and maintenance work carried out by the staff is technically and engineering self-sufficiency and with the Iraqi hands of the department’s staff, and that the work is carried out continuously without any obstruction or intersection with the movement of visitors, and according to a well-thought-out work plan.
