Engineering Projects Department install a desalination plant with a capacity of 1000 liters

The Engineering Projects Department of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine installed a desalination plant in one of the schools of Karbala with a capacity of 1000 liters per hour.

The official of the water division of the Department, Engineer Ahmed Mohammad al-Hasnawi, said that "the staff of our division has installed a desalination plant with a capacity of 1000 liters per hour, in one of the schools of Karbala in order to serve students and parents surrounding this area, and our division has taken over the implementation of infrastructure works as well as electrical and mechanical works of the station".

He pointed out that"the station consists of several parts, and the devices used in it are from known international companies, as the pumps are from Italian companies which products are known for their long life and high efficiency, and the osmotic membranes, which are the basis for the filtration process, are from one of the best American companies in this field, while the rest of the parts, especially the electrical ones, are from German companies of no less quality.

With regard to operation and maintenance, al-Hasnawi explained that "it is the responsibility of the maintenance unit of the water division, as the work of the station, its operation and maintenance are among its tasks," pointing out that "there is a water laboratory to monitor its purity and quality, as samples are taken periodically weekly to record the results, in order to ensure the suitability of water for use."
