Completion of the installation of the prayer niches' grids of Maqam of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) in the Sanctuary of Safi Safa.

Another industrial and craftsman achievement was added to the series of continuous achievements of the staff working in Al-Saqqa' Factory for the grids' manufacture of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, as they finished erecting and installing the Mihrabs' grids of the Maqam of the Commander of the faithful Ali Ibn Abi Taleb (peace be upon both of them) in the sanctuary of Atheeb al-Yamani known by (Safi Safa - may Allah be pleased with him) in the province of Najaf after the completion of their manufacture in the factory by Iraqi hands, which have acquired the experience and skill that qualify for such projects.

The role of these staffs was not limited to the manufacturing, but they also carried out all the installation work with the same craft and professional skills, which was used in the manufacture of these niches, which is one of the parts of this sanctuary's grid.

Mr. Ali Al-Saffar, member of the committee supervising the Al-Saqqa' plant, told us about this project, saying: "The special grids of the Maqam's niches [Mihrab] in the upper and lower floors, were manufactured in the same place where the sanctuary's grid of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was manufactured. After completing their manufacture, we transported them to holy Maqam to carry out the work of the installation by the cadres of the al-Saqqa' plant; from the carpenters, blacksmiths and all craftsmen of the factory to install these Mihrab's grids in their places on the upper and lower floor of the Maqam with professionalism and high accuracy."

Stressing that "through this project or through other projects we would like to convey the message that the projects carried out in the holy shrines by Iraqi hands, is of the finest quality and quantity, as well as that they are manufactured in the most sacred and holy places in the world. And this project will be a good start for other future projects, God willing. "

Sayed. Nadhem Jassim Al Ghurabi, Director of Al-Saqqa' plant, added: "The project of manufacturing the mihrabs' grids and the grid of the Maqam of the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) and the sanctuary of Atheeb al-Yamani, known as Safi Safa (may Allah be pleased with him), is among the projects conducted by the factory's staffs according to the contract between the site of the special secretariat of the Maqam and the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to manufacture and install them. The percentage of completion of the Maqam's grid after the completion of the manufacture of niches' grid has reached more than 80%, which reached advanced stages."

He added: "The whole project was implemented with precision and craftsmanship of the staff of the Saqqa' factory according to the design drawings. The mihrab of the Commander of the faithful Imam Ali (peace be upon him) extends to the two floors of the Maqam according to its design. Both floors consists of a Mihrab and small wall surrounding it, its length is of 13.25 m and its height is of 1.40 m. The frames are made of wood material (Burmese teak). The grids are of golden material, consisting of (13 sections) each of them measuring 82 cm x 146 cm with the frame except for the mihrab, which height is of 1.90 m. Each section consists of 8 columns and 16 rows. As for the section of the mihrab, it consists of 8 columns and 21 rows, and these sections in turn consists of 280 Zubana, which are the pieces linking between the ball and the other, 128 balls and 48 half balls, as for the ground floor wall surrounding the mihrab, its length is of 13,25 m and height of 1,24 m, consisting of 13 sections with the same width of 82 cm and height of 124 cm and each of them consists of 9 columns And 14 rows".

The Special Secretary of the Mazar; Haj Abd al-Hassan Hamoudi Shanoon expressed his thanks to all the workers in Al-Saqqa' Factory for their efforts in accomplishing this project and completing it in the best way. As it has been manufactured with high manufacturing advantages suitable for the sanctity of this holy sanctuary, in addition to being manufactured purely by Iraqis from the servants of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him).
