The expansion project of the gates of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine aims to creating entrances that embrace old doors, to form together an architectural structure integrated in its design and implementation making it look like a single gate. Among these gates, is the Qibla gate which is considered as the Qibla for the rest of gates, and which has been expanded to a width of 11 meters and a height of 11 meters.
After the completion of the facade of the main entrance, which was considered an architectural masterpiece of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him), the works continue in the internal finishing stage, which are confined between the old door and the new entrance. including covering the walls and ceiling with the streaky Kashi Karbala'i of the same quality used in the cladding the Iwans of the Holy Shrine to create a state of architectural symmetry, embellished by the golden Muqarnas engravings in harmony with the ancient inscriptions and the engravings inside the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.
And according to the head of engineering projects at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine; Engineer Dia' Majeed al-Sa'egh: "The works of decorations and Islamic inscriptions of the Qibla gate of the shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peae be upon him) has reached advanced stages, despite the accuracy of the implementation of its technical details."
Indicating: "The inscriptions and decorations of these entrances are six large arches framed by a golden frame with Kashi Karbala'i inscriptions and engravings, combining between the authenticity of the heritage and the modern execution. There are other arches, which are based on the top of the pyramid of three main arches, framed by a pure golden frame. It contains a decorative strip with a Qur'anic crown with Quranic verses. The top of this arch is joined by a golden frame that surrounds the inside of the gate. The works were repeated on both sides of the entrance.
The ceiling of the gate, which is itself an art masterpiece, has been completed by the installation of iron bases for the installation of Islamic architectural forms of inscriptions, Muqarnas and domes, which is an integrated network used the amounts of iron according to certain measurements to fit with what will be installed on it, taking into account other technical matters with the introduction of the installation of Muqarnas and dendrites, a large number of which has been installed to be directly cladded by Muqarnas and dendrites using the streaky Kashi Karbala'i that is decorated with a golden band according to design of each of them."
