The cadres of the Engineering Maintenance Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine completed their assigned tasks related to the civil works of the new grid of the shrine of al-Qasem son of Imam al-Kadhem (peace be upon both of them).
The engineer supervising these works; Eng. Ali Salloum stated to the al-Kafeel Network: "The foundation was excavated by dimensions (50 × 50) cm and the circumference of (17 mt), then the soil was flattened and a layer of subbase was added and flattened, followed by arming the foundation and laying stainless steel bases in the four main pillars by dimensions (40 × 40) cm, as well as 10 intermediate bases of dimensions (30 × 30) cm linked with the foundation by one height (constant level). "
He added: "After installing the four main wooden sides of the grid and fixing the appropriate height and completing the connection of the remaining structures of the grid, we installed the base of the grid (Shathariwan) made of Alabaster (Onyx), which consists of 14 pieces ranging in length (100 cm to 112 cm) and four corners connecting it to the iron base on which the grid is fixed by screws and then pouring the background of the grid's base with cement to link all pieces of the Shathariwan.
He pointed out that the next day, the floor of the grid was poured and covered with alabaster of high quality specifications, and all these works were carried out by cadres from the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.
It is worth mentioning that the civil works started before the dismantling of the old grid and ended with the completion of the installation of the last parts of the new grid passing by several stages.
