The conclusion of the activities of the Imam Al-Baqer (peace be upon him) Cultural Festival, in its sixth edition

The activities of the sixth edition of the Imam al-Baqer (peace be upon him) cultural festival, which was held by the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine under the slogan: (Imam al-Baqer-peace be upon him - the treasure of the message and of the Imamate) were concluded today, Tuesday evening (February 25, 2020).

The closing ceremony included recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, to be followed by the word of the preparatory committee for the festival delivered by the deputy head of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs; Mr. Aqeel Abdul-Hussein Al-Yasiri, saying: "The high attention paid by the holy shrines to the high Islamic figures was and still is one of the most important goals that it seeks to achieve, starting from the festivals that are held to commemorate the birth of the Great Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), the birth anniversary of Imam, the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), and Eid al-Ghadeer, and then the Great International Festival of the martyrdom spring and the Festival of Imam al-Hassan al-Mojtaba (peace be upon him), and the Imam Sajjad (peace be upon him) festival and other special occasions of the births and martyrdoms of the infallible imams (peace be upon them)."

He added: "The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine with its respective departments revived the matter of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) in the nation, and restored the light of their blessed biography and their sacred texts, as it has come a long way in this area, giving the history of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) more attention being a history filled with the noble human values ​​that humanity always needs. And we are fully convinced that if the biography of the infallible imams (peace be upon them) was presented with the required image to people, we would have seen its impact on the souls of other human beings, as it is a purely human biography that influences those who read, hear and contemplate.

He continued: "In view of the importance of the infallible imams biography (peace be upon them) and the benefits resulting from it and the great results expected from it, and because of the position of the infallible imams in the Islamic religion, the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine was devoted through the Department of Religious Affairs and the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs, to the establishment of a scientific and knowledge conference studying the biography of Imam Mohammad al-Baqer (peace be upon him), and his confrontation to the intellectual and religious deviations of his era. The conference was entitled (Imam al-Baqer - peace be upon him - the treasure of the message and of the Imamate), coinciding with his blessed birth anniversary in the first of the month of Rajab."

He concluded: "We can only express our sincere thanks to everyone who contributed in the success of this conference, in the service of religion and reviving the matter of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)."

At the end of the ceremony, shields and certificates of appreciation were distributed to the festival participants.

It is worth noting that there are Quranic and poetic evenings, which will be held in the holy sanctuary of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine this evening, within the activities of the Imam Al-Baqer (peace be upon him) cultural festival in its sixth edition.
