The Library of the Holy Shrine is among the international libraries contributing to the prevention of the Corona epidemic

The Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has taken a series of precautionary and preventive measures to limit the spread of the Corona epidemic, and has adopted in their implementation solid scientific and health bases.

As a result, the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions IFLA, which membership includes more than 150 countries including Iraq and the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine Library, has included the name of Iraq represented by the Library of the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine, in its report on libraries that have contributed to reducing the damage that hit the world as a result of the outbreak of the Corona pandemic.

The Federation mentioned the electronic loan service provided by the library in its international report, which included several axes, such as: (introducing the Corona virus, libraries that were closed around the world, calling to stay at home, providing services remotely, managing the remote work ... and others), and the library was included under the "Providing Remote Services" axis, knowing that this service is the only one provided on the level of Iraq.

It is noteworthy that the library and house of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine since the outbreak of the Corona epidemic in Iraq, took a series of measures, including:

- Suspending the reception of library visitors until after the end of the epidemic and reducing the percentage of employees.

- Investing in electronic communication methods and mechanisms to communicate with the library's visitors, such as loan and reading services, and the acquisition of resources remotely.

- Carrying out sterilization work for all joints of the library, in a manner that is compatible with the nature of what they contain

- Library staff comply with health and safety requirements.
