Covering and paving one of the entrances leading to the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine.

The technical staffs in the department of the area between the Two Holy Shrines, in cooperation and coordination with the Municipality of the Holy City of Karbala, ended works related to covering with asphalt one of the important entrances leading to the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) - Bab Baghdad Street and Square - as part of the campaign taking place in the old city in general and the main entrances leading to the holy shrine in particular, in order to achieve a smooth flow of movement for visitors and vehicles, as it witnesses crowds during the days of the special Ziyarat, in addition to showing it in a decent and beautiful appearance compatible with what is witnessed in the main and sub streets leading to the shrine of Aba Al-Fadl Al-Abbas (peace be upon him) ), from the works of development and rehabilitation, the first of which was the works of Al-Qibla Street of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.
This is according to what was shown to the al-Kafeel Network, by Engineer Alaa Hamza Salman, the official of the General Maintenance Division in the aforementioned department. He added: "Street rehabilitation works are part of a campaign carried out by the department between the Two Holy Shrines, to develop and rehabilitate nearby streets and squares leading to the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, and what this street works is only part of it."
He added: "The cladding works witnessed, in the beginning, the preparation and rearrangement of the street extending from the main street of Baghdad to the central check point of the sub-street and its square. It included removing the displays that were present for the purpose of placing them in another suitable place, and reducing the area of round-about of the main street and adding its area to the street. We have been helped by the engineering maintenance staff in some of the work joints because they need double effort. "
Salman further explained: "The preparations also included removing caravans that were previously used in addition to the removal of rubble that was on both sides of the road, with the reorganization and deployment of electrical wires for private generators, as well as the existing umbrellas that were published randomly, all of which has formed an obstacle that affects the movement of visitors and vehicles, in addition to distorting the street image, provided that after the completion of covering and paving the sides of the street, all work is carried out in a manner that preserves the general shape of the street, without any fundamental change in its general form."
