A medical team at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital announced that it had successfully treated a child suffering from hydrocephalus.

A specialist in neurosurgery, the Turkish doctor, Dr. Mustafa Agkoun: “A medical team headed by us succeeded in performing an operation to place a valve in the brain of a one-year-old and eight-month-old child, in order to drain the fluid accumulated on his brain.”

Dr. Agkoun added, "Hydrocephalus or the presence of excess water on the brain in children means an increase in the pressure of the cerebral fluid (pituitary fluid), as a result of the presence of congenital or non-congenital narrowing in the child's brain."

He explained that: "After the first operation, he underwent a plastic surgery on the head in order for him to take its natural shape, and he is now in good health."
