Successful Cruciate Ligament Transplant and Meniscus Repair for an Athlete.

A medical team at the Al-Kafeel Specialized Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced its success in performing a cruciate ligament implantation and repairing the tear in the meniscus of an athlete using endoscope.
Dr. Basem Al-Bahrani, a specialist in orthopedics, fractures and sports injuries, said: “Our medical team has succeeded in implanting a cruciate ligament and repairing the tear in the meniscus of one of the players using endoscopy,” indicating: “The patient suffered from a complete cut in the ligament as a result of an injury during one of his football matches.".
Al-Bahrani added, "The ligament that was implanted is one of the tendons located behind the thigh of the patient," noting that "the patient returned to his home the next day of the operation while he was in good health, and that he could return to football after completing the medical rehabilitation stage."
