The success of a medical team at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital to perform (366) heart surgeries for adults, with a success rate of 98.90%

A medical team at the Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announced that it had achieved success in open heart surgeries for adults with a rate of (98.90%), while confirming that this success competes with the most advanced hospitals in heart surgery.

The specialist in adult cardiac surgery at the hospital, the Turkish doctor, Dr. Bashir Akpinar stated: “Our medical team has succeeded, during five years of working in Al-Kafeel Hospital in Karbala, to perform (366) operations by performing cardiac surgery and replacing the arteries for patients from various Iraqi governorates,” indicating: “The success rate we have achieved with these operations reached (98.90%). This is a high percentage in the field of heart surgery in the region, and the hospital competes with the most advanced hospitals, whether in Turkey or other countries."

Dr.Akpinar added: “What helped us most in cardiac surgeries was the appropriate work environment in the hospital, its modern technologies, and the distinguished medical and nursing team,” noting that: “Most of the operations that were performed were complex and required special capabilities on the side of medical teams, technologies and devices, especially the post-operative intensive care unit, which is available at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital."
