The Maqam of Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his holy reappearance) embraces a Qur’an Khatma throughout the month of Ramadhan.

One of the halls of the Maqam of Imam al-Mahdi (may God hasten his holy reappearance) of the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, hosted a Quran Khatma organized in cooperation with the Noble Qur’an House, which began from the first day of the Holy Month and will continue until its end.

The head of the Maqam Department, Hai Adnan Al-Da'eef, told Al-Kafeel Network: “The recited Qur’anic Khatma that is held in the holy Maqam is one of several Qur’anic Khatmas held by the Holy Qur’an Institute affiliated to the al-Abbas’s (p) holy shrine. A place within the Maqam was dedicated to its convening and which was prepared in compliance with the principle of social distancing and precautionary and preventive measures were taken into account, as well as being limited to a limited number of attendees. "

He added: “The Khatma begins daily after the Dohr prayer, and will continue until the end of the holy month, by reading one part [Juz'] every day, where a part [Juz'] of the Holy Book of Allah is concluded daily in a sequential manner between the readers and the participants. The new expansion of the Maqam helped establish this Khatma, as the dedicated hall for this Khatma is isolated from other halls enabling to adhere to the conditions of public health and safety."
