Fixation of vertebrae and decompression of the spinal cord in a qualitative operation at the al-Kafeel Hospital.

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital affiliated with the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine succeeded in performing an operation to stabilize a broken vertebra that caused paralysis for a young man in his forties from Anbar Governorate, thanks to the hospital's techniques and the skill of the medical staff that were a major factor in the success of this operation.
The specialist in neurosurgery at the hospital, Dr. Hussam Al-Anbari, said, "Our medical team succeeded in performing the operation to stabilize the vertebrae and depressurize the spinal cord, for a forty-year-old patient from Anbar Governorate, who had been in a traffic accident and fractured the third and fourth thoracic vertebrae." Noting that: "The fracture was of a complex type and caused pressure on the spinal cord, which led to paralysis of the victim's lower extremities."
Al-Anbari added, "During the operation, we were able to raise the pressure on the spinal cord, and stabilize the broken vertebrae well," stressing that "the patient's health condition after the operation is stable, and we are waiting for the gradual recovery of the movement of his limbs."
Al-Anbari pointed out that: "The hospital's techniques and the skill of the medical staff were a major factor in the success of this operation, which is considered one of the distinguished operations."
