Transplantation of three arteries in the heart of a 40-year-old patient at al-Kafeel Hospital.

A medical team at Al-Kafeel Specialist Hospital of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced that it had succeeded in transplanting three arteries into the heart of a forty-year-old patient.

Bashir Akpinar, a cardiac surgeon at the hospital, said: "Our medical team succeeded in transplanting three arteries into the heart of a 40-year-old patient, as well as cleaning the neck artery from the patient's left side."

Dr. Akpinar added, "The patient suffers from a stroke and angina pectoris," explaining that: "Through a diagnostic catheterization, it was found that he had an arterial blockage."

The heart surgery specialist pointed out that: "The blockage does not occur in the arteries of the heart only, but it can occur in any organ of the body."
