The delegation of the Two Holy Shrines offers its condolences to the families of the martyrs of the Sadr City bombing.

A delegation from the Holy Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) offered condolences to the families of the martyrs of the terrorist bombing, which took place in a market in Sadr City, east of the capital, Baghdad, on the eve of Eid al-Adha, leaving about 35 martyrs and dozens of injuries.

The delegation included a number of officials and staffs of the Holy Shrines, who conveyed the condolences of the supreme religious authority, the two Senior Officials, and the servants of the two holy shrines to the families of the martyrs.

The head of the delegation and advisor to the Secretary-General of the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) Holy Shrine, Haj Fadel 'Awaz, told Al-Kafeel Network that: “This visit came as a continuation of previous visits to several stations, the last of which was to offer condolences to the families of the victims of the Imam al-Hussayn Hospital (peace be upon him) fire in the city of Nasiriyah."

He added: “Today we came to console the families of the martyrs whose innocent souls rose to their Creator, and were killed without any guilt at the hands of criminal gangs that have nothing to do with humanity. We conveyed the sincere condolences of the two Senior Officials and servants of the Two Holy Shrines, to the martyrs' families especially and the Iraqis in general. We ask God Almighty to make the souls of the martyrs happy in Paradise and to inspire their families and relatives patience and solace.”

He explained: "Our coming to these families is part of the many links between the two holy shrines and the Iraqi society, including Sadr City, which suffered from the scourge of terrorist bombings, which is another crime to be added to the previous crimes that were committed against it."

The families of the martyrs, in turn, appreciated this step and initiative and thanked those who attended and consoled them.
