The Department of Rites and Processions: Starting the Organizing and Coordinating Procedures for the Ashura Processions.

The Department of Rites, Processions, and Husseini bodies in Iraq and the Islamic world, affiliated to the Holy Shrines of Imam al-Hussayn and Al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them), has begun implementing its organizing and coordinating procedures for the Karbala processions, which will participate in mourning and service activities during the days of the Ashura mourning.

At the forefront of these procedures is the issuance of identities and legal guarantees for the procession owners, as it is the only official body responsible and authorized to organize and document them, in cooperation with the Karbala Police Directorate.

The head of the department, Haj Riyadh Ni'mah al-Salman, told Al-Kafeel Network: "Issuing IDs and guarantees for processions is one of the most important legal and regulatory procedures for their work, in order to ensure the organization and coordination of their work in cooperation with the relevant authorities in the Karbala Police Command."

He added: "Our work is twofold, the first is organizational, which is our duty, and the second is security, which is the duty of the Police Directorate, and together, we issue these identities and guarantees, without which no procession can carry out its work, especially those that will participate in the mourning ceremonies and provide its services within the administrative borders of Karbala Governorate, or the areas and roads leading to it."
