The completion of the number of armies to Fight Imam al-Hussayn (Peace be upon him).

The narratives indicate that on the fifth day of Muharram in the year 61 AH, the armies gathered and their numbers were complete in Karbala, in preparation for fighting Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), his family and companions.

On the other hand, the cursed Ubaydullah bin Ziyad tightened his control over Kufa and prevented its residents from supporting Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) by imposing a military cordon around it.

And he continued to send a group to Kufa to circulate among the people and order them to obey, and to scare those who disobeyed and caused sedition, and to urge them to join the army of Yazeed (upon him, the curse of God). Some accounts confirm that the army that confronted Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) reached thirty thousand men between a passenger and a footman headed by Ibn Sa'd, and Ibn Ziyad placed the observers in high places on Kufa to stop those who wanted to be a helper and supporter of al-Hussayn (peace be upon him).

On the other hand, the people of the house of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) and his companions (may God be pleased with them) increased their resolve and steadfastness in supporting the son of the Messenger of God until the last breath, and were not scared or intimidated by the large number of armies around them, but rather that increased their determination to continue defending and fight for Imam Al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), and they were the best companions as the Imam (peace be upon him) described them when he said: “ I do not know companions more loyal and better than my companions ,neither do I know a household more honourable and passionate than my household. May the Almighty rewards you for the favors you have done me. “
