The al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine: The numbers of visitors during the Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) this year is more than 16 million.

The Secretariat General of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine announced this afternoon of the 20th Safar 1443 AH, corresponding to September 28, 2021, in an official statement, that the number of the visitors during the Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) of this year 1443 AH, since the 7th Safar to mid-noon of the 20th Safar, has reached 16,327,542 visitors, according to the statistics given by the electronic counting system for the arrivals from the main entrances of Karbala.

The following is the text of the statement:

"Peace be upon al-Hussayn, upon Ali son of al-Hussayn, upon the children of al-Hussayn and upon the companions of al-Hussayn (peace be upon them). Peace be upon you O Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas!

We extend our condolences to the Imam al-Hujjah (peace be upon him) and all the believers in the world, for the anniversary of Arba'een of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) asking the Almighty to protect the lands of Muslims from all evil and that the visitors of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) return to their cities and homelands safe with accepted deeds of worship and obedience.

As usual for more than 13 centuries, the holy city of Karbala was honored by the guests and visitors of Aba Abdillah al-Hussayn and his brother Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon both of them) in the blessed Ziyarat of Arba'een this year 1443 AH. And the servants of the holy shrines had the great honor to receive them and provide them with diverse services, which included medical, service and mourning activities and also the service of documenting the numbers of visitors by the electronic counting system for arrival at the main entrances of Karbala. This system was installed and managed by the Communications' division of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine for the sixth year in a row. In addition to the statistical analysis documentation of the rest of the services in the holy city of Karbala performed by the al-Kafeel Center for Information and Statistical Studies.

The number of visitors registered according to the electronic counting system in five axes (Baghdad - Karbala, Najaf - Karbala, Babylon - Karbala, Hussaynia - Karbala [two ways]) this year is 16,327,542 (sixteen million, three hundred and twenty-seven thousand five hundred forty-two) visitors, for the period from 7th Safar until the noon of the 20th Safar in 1443 AH.

The statement included statistics for the number of visitors according to the electronic counting system for the last six years:

1- (16,327,542) Sixteen million three hundred and twenty-seven thousand five hundred and forty-two visitors for the year 1443 AH.

2- (14,553,308) fourteen million five hundred and fifty-three thousand three hundred and eight visitors for the year 1442 AH.

3- (15,229,955) fifteen million two hundred and twenty-nine thousand nine hundred and fifty-five visitors for the year 1441 AH.

4- (15,322,949) fifteen million three hundred twenty-two thousand nine hundred and forty-nine visitors for the year 1440 AH.

5- (13,874,818) thirteen million eight hundred seventy-four thousand eight hundred and eighteen visitors for the year 1439 AH.

6- (11,210,367) Eleven million two hundred and ten thousand three hundred and sixty-seven visitors for the year 1438 AH.
