Updating the surveillance camera system at the al-Abbas's (p) threshold according to the latest advanced systems

The Communications and Information Technology Division of the Engineering Projects Department at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine has announced that it has completed the modernization of the CCTV management system according to the latest advanced systems and technologies that are used in Iraq.
The Division official, Engineer Firas Abbas Hamza, told Al-Kafeel Network: “Since the establishment of the digital surveillance camera system in (2016), which was considered to be of the second generation at the time, we have been striving, according to the directives of the General Secretariat of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, to develop and keep pace with the technical modernity that is witnessing rapid leaps in this field, and we were able to keep pace with this development until we reached what we are now, which is the third generation of these technologies.”
He added: "The modernization and development work was twofold:
First: Replacing all second-generation cameras with third-generation cameras.
The second: implementing a complete infrastructure for the servers and software of the new camera management system, with a capacity of more than (1300) cameras, after it was (600) cameras in the previous system, and the software was replaced and storage servers updated according to modern technologies."
Hamza stated that: "The new cameras are characterized by high resolution and quality, with extended coverage, and have the ability to provide us with clear images even in the case of complete darkness, as well as their reliance on the use of a sophisticated display protocol that increases storage by four times the old technology".
He added: "The new system gives central capabilities in managing video imaging and sending video images to the various sections of the shrine, for the purpose of providing services to the honorable visitors or raising the level of services provided to them, in addition to providing the security aspect and entrapment of anyone who is trying to tamper with the sanctity of this holy place, not to mention the system that is ready and prepared for fourth-generation updates that work with electronic intelligence technology.”
He explained: "The cameras were deployed according to a plan as needed, and they included all the joints of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, starting from the Holy Sanctuary, the Holy Courtyard and its outer surroundings, in addition to the important and nearby streets as well as external sites, with the possibility of adding cameras in any location or other place and controlling them centrally."
He concluded: "The work was completed in record time and with the staff of our division without the assistance of any external party, as these works previously cost the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine huge sums, and we conducted experimental examinations on them during the Ziyarat Arba'een and they proved successful, and they are now working well, praise be to God."
