The holy shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) is covered in black for the commemoration of martyrdom anniversary of Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her)

The shrine of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) was covered with the largest black cloth of condolences after the mourning season of Imam al-Hussayn (may Allah's peace be upon him) in Muharram and Safar, in order to commemorate and recall the martyrdom anniversary of the dearest of creation to the Messenger of God (may Allah's prayers be upon him and his family); Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her), which will coincide with the thirteenth of Jumada al-Ula, according to the second narration.

The days of sadness, sorrow and tears were renewed in the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine and in Karbala of al-Hussayn (peace be upon him), as the city is covered in black these days, recalling the sorrows of the Commander of the Faithful Ali and his family (peace be upon them), when they bid farewell with sorrow to the greatest creation after the Messenger of God (Allah's prayers be upon him and his family); the lady of the women of the worlds, Lady Fatima az-Zahra (may God’s peace be upon her).

The Assistant Head of the Department of the Holy Sanctuary at the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, Mr. Zain al-Abidin al-Quraishi, told Al-Kafeel Network, "The preparations for the Fatimi mourning season are early every year, as the sewing division of the Gifts and Vows Department at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine begins to prepare all the supplies and the condolences banners, on which hadiths and sermons concerning Lady az-Zahra (Allah's prayers be upon her) were written, according to measurements taken in advance."

He added, "After the completion of these works, the staffs of our Department will begin to hang what has been sewn and embroidered on the corridors of the Holy Sanctuary, to cover it with a mourning cloth that is the largest after the one hang during the months of Muharram and Safar, and so that the al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine announces the start of the mourning days of the Fatimi sorrows' season".
