Celebrating the International Day of the Arabic Language in the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine

The Al-Ameed Scientific and Intellectual Society revived the International Day of the Arabic Language, by holding a scientific symposium hosted by Imam al-Hassan Hall (peace be upon him) at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine this Friday morning (19 Jumada Al-Ula 1443 AH) corresponding to December 24, 2021, under the slogan: (The Language of the Thaqalayn: The Source of Linguistic and Intellectual Richness in the World), with the presence and follow-up via the “Zoom” program by a group of Arabic language symbols and guardians, and religious and academic personalities from inside and outside Iraq.

The activities of the symposium began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an, followed by the recitation of Surat Al-Fatihah in memory of the souls of the righteous martyrs of Iraq, then listening to the national anthem and (The Melody of Pride) the anthem of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine.

After that, there was a speech of the Al-Ameed Society delivered by its member Prof. Dr. Abbas al-Fahham, in which he spoke about the importance of the Arabic language and its remarkable contributions throughout history, in various fields of science, knowledge, literature and the arts. It has a great and radiant history that many nations have benefited from, explaining that it is the language of the Qur’an that God Almighty praised in a number of its verses. Praise be to God who made us speak the language of the Qur’an and follow the most eloquent of creatures, which is the most honorable Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), and made our Imam; the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him), the leader of eloquence and the master of the speakers. So congratulations to the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine for this step, reminding the values ​​of the Arabic language, highlighting Its importance and urging generations to adhere to it, as it is the language of the Qur’an, the Prophet and his family (peace be upon them).

After that, the poets Dr. Hazem Rashak al-Tamimi and Dr. Ahmad Jassim al-Khayal presented their poems demonstrating the importance of this day and its celebration.

The activities continued with the opening of the research session of the symposium, which was moderated by Prof. Dr. Karim Hussein Naseh, and witnessed the presentation of three research papers presented by:

- Prof. Dr. Adel Abbas al-Nasrawi and his research paper was entitled: Arabic and Semitic Languages... Relationships and Approaches.

- Prof. Dr. Majid Taresh al-Ruba'i and his research paper was entitled: The Arabic Language in the narrations of the Imams of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them).

- Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abd al-Mashkour and his research paper was entitled: The Arabic Language in the View of Orientalists.

After that, Prof. Dr. Ali al-Maslawi delivered the Al-Ameed document to reform the linguistic reality in Iraq. The conclusion of the symposium was held by honoring the researchers and participants.
