1950 Iraqi libraries included by the Cataloging and Information Systems Center on the IFLA Map

The Cataloging and Information Systems Center of the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has revealed the modernization and inclusion of (1950) Iraqi libraries on the map of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA).

The director of the center affiliated with the Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine, Professor Hassanein al-Mousawi, stated to Al-Kafeel Network: "The Iraqi libraries that are now listed along with the major global libraries affiliated with IFLA, are (national - public - university - school - private - and others) libraries."

He stressed, "We are continuing to introduce and update other Iraqi libraries, to open a wide knowledge and information window for the libraries within an accurate database, allowing recipients all over the world to see what these libraries contain, and to raise the name of Iraq on this global specialized site."

Al-Mousawi explained that "this project, which was adopted free of charge by the Center, is being implemented in Iraq for the first time, and we have been working on it to activate the terms of the agreements and understandings established by the Center for Cataloging and Information Systems of the Library and House of Manuscripts of the al-Abbas’s (p) Holy Shrine and the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), because the Center is one of its prominent and influential members.
