Al-Kafeel Super Speciality Hospital in Karbala launched on Tuesday an awareness campaign on the importance of early detection of breast cancer, on the occasion of the International Awareness Month for this disease.
"The hospital believes in the importance of continuous communication with the local community in all its categories, and is keen to provide medical care to its people through the establishment of voluntary work initiatives, including free medical days that reflect the hospital's real role in serving the community,"s aid Dr. Anwar al Hashemi, a specialist in medical physiology and early detection of breast cancer.
Al Hashemi pointed out that" the campaign aims to spread and enhance awareness, education and definition of breast cancer and the causes of cancerous tumors and methods of early detection, means of treatment and methods of prevention."
For her part, Dr. Anwar al-Hakeem said that "the campaign comes in interaction with the World Breast Cancer Month, which falls in October every year to enhance the role of awareness and education by targeting women and members of the community to raise their awareness and educate them on the importance of early detection of cancerous tumors and benefit from these programs and events because of the content of information and free awareness and medical guidance".
According to al-Hakeem, the campaign included a number of awareness-raising activities, which began with holding lectures at the hospital, in addition to introductory meetings about the campaign.
