The Holy Shrine of Imam al-Hussayn (peace be upon him) offered the banner of the great prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and his holy Household) to the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine on his auspicious birth anniversary.
"It is a great honor for us to stand under this tent and the noble Dome of Aba al-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) on the anniversary of the birth of the Most Holy Prophet Mohammad (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) to present this blessed banner to the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine to be raised on the occasion of the auspicious birth anniversary of the messenger of mercy," said Dr. Alaa Dea'Uddin, deputy secretary general of the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) holy shrine.
"This tradition will be in general throughout the coming years, and the raising of blessed flags will be one of the devotional practices in births and joyful occasions, so that this ritual is important in determining the days of the births of the holy imams (peace be upon them)," he added.
The deputy secretary-general pointed out that "the idea was born at the Imam al-Hussayn's (p) Holy Shrine to present this blessed banner to most of the holy shrines at all the happy occasions of the auspicious birth anniversaries of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them)".
