Intellectual Affairs Department concludes its third Quranic session

The African Studies Center at the Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, has concluded the work of the third specialized Quranic course for students of the Hawza from African communities.

The director of the center; Sheikh Saad Sattar al-Shammari, said that "the course was held in the province of Najaf Al-Ashraf, and a number of academics specializing in the Quranic field, working in scientific and research institutions, attended it".

He pointed out that it "will contribute to the deepening of the Quranic thought and the consolidation of the culture of brotherhood, among students of religious sciences from the African continent".

On the sidelines of the last day of the session, the center held the (annual African Forum) for the year 1444 AH, dedicated to African students of religious sciences, "he added.

He continued,"The Forum included the recitation of verses from the Hoyl Quran recited by Sheikh Mo'adh Sa'eed, and a speech delivered by Sayed Muslim al-Jaberi, in which he highlighted on the center's vision towards preaching work on the African continent, in accordance with the desired principle of modernity."

According to Al-Shammari,"African students of religious sciences had a speech delivered by Sheikh Shaaban Adam from Ghana, in which he outlined the role of the Al-Abbas's (p) holy shrine, represented by the Center for African Studies, in supporting ways to accomplish the preaching work in the target countries of the continent."

At the end of the forum, thanks and appreciation certificates were distributed to the participants in the sessions.
