At the University of Maysan, the Al-Abbas's (P) Holy Shrine organizes the festival of the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her)

The Department of Public Relations at the Al-Abbas's (P) Holy Shrine organized the festival of the birth anniversary of Lady Fatima az-Zahra (peace be upon her), in cooperation with the Faculty of Education at the University of Maysan.

The festival, which is part of the Al-Kafeel National Youth project adopted by the Department, began with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by the reading of Surah Al-Fatiha in memory of the martyrs of Iraq, and then the playing of the national anthem and the anthem of the holy shrine (Pride's Melody).

This was followed by a speech of the dean of the Faculty of Education; Dr. Hashim Dakhel al-Daraji, in which he said, "the Great Prophet (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household) spoke a lot about Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her), and she was described as her father's mother and the Lady of the worlds' women, and she is the Lady of the women of the people of paradise and the best women of the people of the Earth..."

The festival included a speech by the Al-Abbas's (P) holy shrine delivered by Sayed Adnan Gelokhan al-Mousawi, through which he explained that "previous nations considered women an evil, and if they were needed, they considered them a necessary evil, and some put them in the slave market to sell them, and some of them also if the husband died, the wife was burned, and in Arabia the baby girl was buried under the dirt when she was born, believing that the girl brings shame to them, forgetting that the man has a role in that."
He added," after the advent of Islam, he fought these phenomena and gave women their economic, social and cultural rights and the right to own property, "noting that" Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her) had a complete personality in all respects and as required by Divine Will, as the messenger of Allah (Allah's prayers be upon him and upon his holy Household), when he longs for the perfume of paradise, smelled the fragrance of az-Zahra (peace be upon her), and that she represents an example to follow for both men and women."

The festival included presentation of poems and chants about Lady az-Zahra (peace be upon her), amid a large attendance by the university staff and students.
