The Department of Intellectual and Cultural Affairs at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine has established a digital library for the Media and Communications Authority, holy Karbala branch, with more than 600 sources.
The establishment of the library was supervised by the Digital Information Center at the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine Library of the Department.
The director of the Center; Mr. Ammar al-Jawad, said that "we received a request from the Media and Communications Authority of the Holy Karbala branch to establish a digital library, so we initiated the establishment of the library, which included a number of sources in various digital groups, including books, letters and University theses".
"The number of sources has reached more than 600 sources, so that students and visitors of the Library of the Media and Communications Authority in Karbala can benefit from their research,"he added.
According to al-Jawad, the Center has a long history of establishing digital libraries for various government and educational institutions in various sectors, including universities, cultural bodies, public libraries and others.
For his part, the director of the Office of the Media and Communications Authority in the Middle Euphrates, engineer Mithaq Taleb Jabbar, said that "the Al-Abbas's (p) Holy Shrine made a nice initiative as we are a regulatory body responsible for the media, communications and information technology sectors in the country, and therefore we need it to provide information of workers in this sector and develop their capabilities, especially media students at Iraqi universities, researchers and bloggers."
According to Jabbar, these sources represented a valuable gift that provided the Authority's library with reliable sources that serve the Iraqi society and specialists in these fields and are a national wealth.
